PORTLAND — Wellington “Wells” Lyons has raised more money than any other City Council candidate, according to campaign finance reports filed Friday.

But two candidates – Justin Benjamin Pollard and Shane Boyington – have not filed their mandatory 11-day pre-election reports.

Lyons raised $14,181 from the beginning of his campaign through Oct. 23. That’s more than incumbent City Councilors Nicholas Mavodones, Kevin Donoghue and David Marshall, who combined raised $5,013.

Lyons’ figures include $3,900 loan he made to his own campaign. He has also received $1,500 in in-kind donations.

Although he has spent more than $10,700, Lyons holds a huge cash advantage over his opponent, Mavodones, a five-term councilor who has raised only $625.

Donoghue has raised and spent $1,175. District 1 opponent, Pollard, had not filed his campaign finance report as of Monday morning.

Marshall has raised $3,214 and has $2,235 on-hand for the final run up to Election Day. District 2 opponent, Boyington, has not filed his report, but has said publicly he is not raising or spending any money.

City Election Administrator Bud Philbrick said he would be reaching out Pollard and Boyington to check the status of their reports.
