BRUNSWICK — A Star Party will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the farmers market field at Crystal Spring Farm, 277 Pleasant Hill Road, at 7 p.m.

Southern Maine Astronomers Club and Curtis Memorial Library librarians Melissa Orth and Linda Oliver, along with Cornerstones of Science and the Brunswick Topsham Land Trust, invite the public to watch the stars come out, view the evening sky and try out a variety of telescopes, including the library telescope.

Astronomers will identify constellations and answer questions about backyard astronomy and telescopes. Participants are encouraged to set up their own telescopes, and are welcome to come earlier than 7 p.m. while it is still light. Warm clothes, bug spray, reclining lawn chairs and binoculars are recommended.

The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 6.

The program is appropriate for adults, teens and families with older children. Children ages 10 and under must have adult supervision.
