The Nov. 6 election may seem like it’s a date way off in the future. However, I recently met Andrew McLean and liked what he offers as a candidate to represent Gorham voters in the Maine House of Representatives. Despite the summer heat, he made me think about the values I want in my representative.
He’s committed to Gorham and shows it by his consistent hard work and active role in our community. His family background taught him the importance and value of service and he lives it.
In talking to him, I appreciated how well he listens. He is interested in both the issues and in the people who are struggling with the impact the issues have on them. He learns about an issue by hearing folks out, asking questions, and weighing facts. He “gets” that most issues are complex and require careful thought and the willingness to hear and reflect on multiple points of view. He knows that solutions to problems come from informed, flexible, and creative thinking.
Take a few minutes to talk with Andrew. He’s working hard to meeting voters in neighborhoods all over District 129. Once you meet him, you’ll appreciate his values, too.
