POLAND SPRING — Poland Spring Preservation Society announces that they will host a special concert in conjunction with the Mark Thallander Foundation, that will feature almost a dozen perfomers playing a keyboard concert. The performance will close out the PSPS’ annual summer concert series on Monday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.
A news release describes the final concert as follows:
This special event will showcase organists and pianists from Central Maine and beyond who will play either the Chapel’s almost fully-restored 1926 Skinner pipe organ or the piano. Musicians will include organists John Corrie, Norma Rice- Gould, Terrie Harman, Beryl Samia, Janice Stover, Mark Thallander, Scott Vaillancourt, and pianists Kathy Haley, Glenda Winkle-Morrow and others.
All proceeds benefit education programs and the preservation and restoration of the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel, both of which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Tickets are $7.50 at the door and include refreshments.
Members of the Society may be seated at 6:25 p.m. with the general public following at 6:30 p.m.
