DAMARISCOTTA — Lincoln Theater will show “The Rolling Stones: Some Girls, Live in Texas” one night only on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m.

A news release describes the film as follows:

“Some Girls, Live in Texas” captures this world-famous band at the height of its musical career. The Rolling Stones 1978 USA tour followed immediately on the release of the “Some Girls” album and by the time the band arrived in Texas in mid- July the album had hit the No. 1 spot on the U.S. charts.

The tour took a back-tobasics approach, with the band and its music very much at the forefront, with little or no elaborate staging. Filmed on July 18, 1978, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, this concert is typical of the tour, with The Rolling Stones delivering a raw, energetic performance in front of a crowd that is clearly loving the show.

Originally shot on 16mm film, the footage has been carefully restored and the sound remixed and re-mastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multitrack tapes that include “Honky Tonk Woman,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Brown Sugar,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Miss You” and “Beast of Burden.”

The film also includes a rare interview with Sir Mick Jagger, filmed in August 2011.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 18 and younger.
