WARREN — A prisoner who was serving a life sentence for murder died Thursday morning due to ongoing health issues.

Judy Plummer, spokeswoman for the Maine Department of Corrections, said 64-year-old Charles Page had been incacerated at the Maine State Prison in Warren since 1979.

The Maine State Medical Examiner’s Office will examine the body.

According to a 2011 story in the Bangor Daily News, Page was convicted in July 1979 of beating, raping and stabbing 29-year-old Diane Titus 55 times at her home in Dexter.
