He graduated from Herman High School in 1969 and later graduated from Northern Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor’s Degree of Music in 1973. Mr. Noonan was a Music Teacher at the Eastport, Maine School Department, and Music Director at the Woodland School Department of Baileyville, Maine. Prior to teaching, he cooked at Millers Restaurant in Bangor and at The Cannery in Eastport. He was a member of the Downeast Board of Umpires Association (DBUA, the Downeast Volleyball Officials Association (DVOA), the Maine Music Educator’s Association (MMEA), the Washington County Music Education Association, and the Maine Teachers Association.
Henry retired in June of 2004.
He enjoyed cooking, being with his family, traveling and meeting with friends.
Besides his parents, Henry is also predeceased by a brother, George D. Noonan.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Dawn Brooks Noonan of Dennysville; two daughters, Jennifer Ellis and her husband, Levale of Jacksonville, FL, and Roxanne Meader and her husband, Guy of Readfield; two brothers, David Noonan and his wife, Joyce of Holden, ME, and John Noonan and his wife, Patty of Clarksville, TN; his sister, Filene Spencer and her husband, Chuck of Eddington, ME; four grandchildren, Kira Turner, LJ Ellis and Brittany Ellis of Jacksonville, FL, and Leila Meader of Readfield; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special aunt, Leila Fournier of Freeport.
A memorial service will be held at 6PM Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Spendnick Club in Baileyville, ME. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, July 21 at Growstown Cemetery in Brunswick. If desired, donations can be made in his memory to the Henry J.
