HARPSWELL — Sebascodegan Gallery on Route 24 in Harpswell will add works by Lee Reiff of Brunswick and Bill Tomsa of Topsham to those of 18 other juried artists when it reopens on June 23.

A reception to welcome the public and celebrate the new season is scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 24.

Both new artists have strong roots as landscape painters, according to a release from the gallery.

“New to Maine, Lee Reiff moved here from California where she began her painting career,” the release states.

“I’ve been entranced with the diversity and beauty of the Maine countryside,” she said in the release, “and love to paint the changing seasons.”

Bill Tomsa turned to painting after 25 years as a graphic designer and illustrator. Having moved to Maine in 2003, he refocused on building a new career in fine arts and is now creating both representational and abstract works.

“I enjoy painting both plein air and in the studio, but creating the best art I can, regardless of where I do it, is my primary goal,” he said in the release.

The Sebascodegan Artists Gallery has opened its doors every summer since 1990. During its 22-year histo- ry, the gallery has hosted close to 100 local contemporary and traditional artists, working in a wide variety of media from oils, acrylics and pastels, to wood, glass and paper batik.

The gallery is located 7.5 miles from Cook’s Corner on Route 24. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
