BRUNSWICK — Barbara E. Moody, age 70, of Maquoit Rd., died Wednesday, June 13th at Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick.

She was born in Bath on December 19, 1941, the daughter of James and Annie Gilliam Caton. She attended West Point and Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1959. She had continuing education through the years in the food services industry.

On April 15, 1959 she married Kenneth R. Moody of Brunswick.

Together with her husband they built and ran a refrigeration and snowplowing business that is still being run by their son and grandson today. She also delivered papers for The Times Record and sold Avon and worked in the food service industry for over 40 years before retiring for health reasons.

She is a member of the Topsham American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, shopping, gardening, gambling, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.

She is predeceased by her husband, father, mother, stepfather Arlo Parker, brother James Jr., and a sister Carolyn Moore.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Rhonda Switzer and husband Eric, and Sherri Moody, and son, Robert Moody all of Brunswick; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth Switzer, Robbie Joe Moody, Christopher Switzer, Brandi Moody, James Moody, Tyler Moody, Robert R. Moody, Silas Moody, Madison Moody and Ryleigh Moody; a sister Norma Billings of Woolwich, a stepsister Peggy of Brunswick; many nieces and nephews and several newly rediscovered family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 17th from 6-8 p.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18th at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Maquoit Cemetery, Brunswick.
