WOOLWICH — Lloyd G. Merrill, 77, of Route 1 died Friday, June 8, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Bradley, Maine on March 3, 1935, a son of Lloyd H. and Evelyn (Garland) Merrill.

He attended Bradley, Dresden and Woolwich schools. On April 28, 1956 he married Louise May Stilphen and resided in Woolwich. He was employed at Kennebec Coal Company in Bath. He then was employed at Bath Iron Works for 35 years as a crane operator.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family, his four devils and one angel.

He was predeceased by his wife, Louise May Merrill on October 12, 1993, one brother, Gerald Merrill and one sister, Diane Davis.

He is survived by four sons, Michael L. Merrill and his wife Annette of Warren, Harold E. Merrill and his companion Faith Guilds of Woolwich, Donald D. Merrill of Woolwich and Timothy A. Merrill and his companion Lori Ezzell of Wiscasset, one daughter, Terri Lynn Streevey of West Bath, one brother, Robert Merrill and his wife Bonnie of Windham, one sister, Elaine Grover of Wiscasset, six grandchildren, Jessica Gatcomb, Joshua Streevey, Anthony Merrill, Ashlee Merrill, Naomie Merrill and Heather Merrill, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grover Cemetery in Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Lloyd’s home on Route 1. Condolences may be made online at www.Daiglefuneralhome.com.
