GIL ORMSBY of American Legion Post 171 in Harpswell, right, and Jorge Maderal, past commander of Post 20 in Brunswick, remembered the veterans of the Spanish-American War and the veterans of the Civil War by placing a wreath at both memorials. Ormsby, a Korean War veteran of Harpswell, said, “Let’s not forget these people.” Members of Post 20, led by acting commander Marty Diller, held a memorial service at both wreath laying ceremonies Monday morning.
