HARPSWELL — Dannielle Lynn Allen has been awarded a $500 educational award in a national competition with other students who are members of Modern Woodmen of America, according to a news release.

Allen, daughter of Elizabeth Allen of Harpswell, plans to use the grant to attend Roanoke College in Salem, Va.

Allen is one of 100 grant winners selected this year.
