BRUNSWICK — Grover A. Connors, Jr, 83, resident of River Road in Topsham died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick following a brief illness.

He was born July 23, 1928 in Boothbay Harbor a son of Grover A. and Leta M. (Giles) Connors, Sr. He was educated in Brunswick schools. He had served in the Merchant Marines.

Grover was a longtime lobsterman who fished out of Harpswell. He also was part owner of Grover Connors Trucking, Inc.

He was a member of the Masons United Lodge #8 of Brunswick, a member of the American Legion Post in Topsham and was also active with DeMolay where he worked a lot with teens.

Grover enjoyed boat racing in his younger years, loved camping and also had started the first scuba diving club in Brunswick.

He was predeceased by two sons, Grover A. Connors, III and Peter A. Connors, a daughter Pamela A. Connors and a sister Lilla Raffia.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Patricia (Baxley) Connors of Topsham, two daughters, Linda A. and her husband Steven Durost of Topsham, Debra A. and her husband Paul Ingrao of Walling, TN, a step daughter Deborah and her husband Bruce Noll of North Carolina, a brother Patrick A. and his wife Lillian Connors of Brunswick, a sister Cynthia Sairo of Durham, 6 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Riverside Cemetery, River Road in Brunswick with Reverend Jeff Hunt officiating. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick, ME.
