He was born in North Weymouth, MA on May 5, 1934, a son of Alphonse H. and Annie Sadie (Comeau) Turcotte Sr.
He graduated from Morse High School, attended Kents Hill Prep School and University of Maine for one year. He entered the United States Army in 1957, serving for two years. He obtained a pilot’s license and owned and operated a Cessna airplane and married Madeline Alice Green. He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a pipe coverer for over 12 years and the Bath Fire Department for more than 12 years. He was also a self employed carpenter.
He was a member of the Bath City Council, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a life member of the Bath Lodge of Elks. He was a member of the "We Remember" Committee in Bath.
He is survived by Madeline A. Turcotte, his longtime companion, Diane E. Plummer of Bath, two daughters, Christine Mank and her husband Alton of Bath and Teresa Pinkham and her longtime companion David Brewster of West Bath, one sister, Claire Marie Libby of West Virginia, three grandc hildren, Amanda Mank, Bridgette Mank and Lindsay Mank, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Alphonse H. Turcotte Jr. and one sister, Patricia Bettis.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, May 25, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 144 Lincoln Street, Bath. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath.
