BRUNSWICK — Mark Anthony Peterson, son of Gilbert E. Peterson of Brunswick, passed away at the Southern Maine Hospice in Scarborough on Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

Mark succumbed after a lengthy and difficult battle with cancer.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 20, 1965, Mark was raised in California and Maine, and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1983. Following four years in the U.S. Navy, Mark lived for several years in North Carolina, and, finally, returned to Maine where he worked as a salesman for several local companies. Most recently, he lived in Arundel, ME, where he was an active member of the Rod and Gun Club.

Mark is survived by his father and four children whom he loved: Vincent McElhose, Baltimore, MD; Jessica Denzer, Merritt Island, FL; Skyler Peterson, Smithfield, NC; and, Joquin Peterson-Bonville, Yarmouth, ME; two grandsons, Joshua Denzer and Clayton Willey of Merritt Island, FL; a brother, Stanley Peterson, Boothbay; a niece and nephew, Shawna and Devon Peterson, Boothbay; and his partner, Ashley King of Arundel.

A memorial service is planned for late summer in Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route One #1, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
