WEST BATH — Regina J. Paradis Schmitt, 82, of West Bath passed away April 19, 2012 after a brief illness.

She was born Regina Jolk in Giessen, Germany and was raised in Wiesbaden. She married Clement Paradis in 1957. He passed away in 1981

For twenty-seven years, she was the secretary for the Foreign Language Department at Bowdoin College. In 1988, she married Albert R. Schmitt. It is a testament to her kind nature and generous spirit that she was always surrounded by good friends. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, her three children, Daniel Paradis, Simone Hanson and Andrew Paradis; four grandsons, three step-children, Hiedi Schmitt Erspamer, Peter Schmitt and Stephanie Savastano; three step-grandchildren, and a sister, Monika Baker of Naples, Florida.

Memorial visiting hours with a Vigil Service will be held Thursday evening, April 26, at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal Street in Brunswick from 6 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church-All Saints Parish, Brunswick on Friday morning, April 27, at 11 am. Rather than flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP), 84A Union Street, Brunswick, Me 04011.
