FREEPORT — In advance of Town Manager Dale Olmstead’s retirement, the Freeport Town Council will hold a public hearing Wednesday to solicit input on the qualities desired in a new town manager.

Olmstead, who has held the town’s top administrative position for nearly 30 years, plans to retire this fall. He first announced his intent to retire in February 2011.

The public meeting will be hosted by the Eaton Peabody Consulting Group, which has been hired to conduct the search for the new town manager.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p. m. Wednesday at town hall.
