• Bates College and the Bates Dance Festival present a widely acclaimed multimedia production that brings to life personal stories about the impacts of a deteriorating environment: “Red, black & GREEN: a blues,” by choreographer Marc Bamuthi Joseph and the Living World Project. It will be shown at 8 p.m. April 27 and 28 at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave.
“The movements for social change and environmental accountability are one and the same,” said Joseph, a spoken-word, hip-hop and dance artist. “And focusing on steps to sustain the planet will ultimately force us to envision a pathway to sustaining humanity.”
This show is an evening-length interactive performance of dance, text, music and visuals. It focuses on environmental justice, social ecology and collective responsibility. Tickets cost $20 ($10 for seniors and students) at batestickets.com. For information, call 786-6163.
