SOUTH PORTLAND (AP) — Police in South Portland have arrested two men they say were hiding in a crawl space in an apartment after one of them stole prescription drugs from a neighbor.
A witness told police they saw someone climbing in the window of an apartment on Broadway at about 2:20 p.m. Sunday.
The witness identified the suspect as a resident of another apartment in the same building.
Police knocked on the door of the suspect’s apartment, and heard noises inside, but no one answered.
After obtaining a search warrant, police searched the suspect’s apartment and found him and another man hiding in a small crawl space
Police say 26-year-old Rourke Sparks was charged with burglary and theft, while 27-year-old Derrick Splude was a charged with drug possession.
