YARMOUTH — The Studio for the Living Arts Dance Center will present two performances Saturday at Yarmouth High School.
The afternoon show will feature more than 30 numbers from young dancers in the Pulse Dance Company. The evening performance, “Dance for Autism,” will benefit the Autism Society of Maine and will include nearly 200 dancers from throughout the state.
The afternoon show begins at 2 p. m. Dancers from the Pulse Dance Company will showcase their repertoire of performances from the 2011- 12 season. Genres will include tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hiphop and contemporary styles. Dancers will perform in solo, duet, trios, small group and production numbers.
Advance tickets cost $10 for adults or $8 for students and seniors.
At 7 p.m., the Pulse Dancers will be joined by guests from studios from throughout Maine to raise awareness and funds for the Autism Society of Maine.
With the help of the dance community, Pulse Dance Company has donated more than $ 12,000 to the Autism Society of Maine, according to a Pulse Dance Company release.
The evening performance will include tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and modern dance forms. Advance tickets cost $10 for adults or $8 for students and seniors. Tickets cost $2 more per person at the door.
Proceeds from the evening show benefit the Autism Society of Maine. Raffles and concessions also will benefit the society.
Pulse Dance Company functions as both a performance group and a competitive team for dance students ages 8 to 18 years old.
