GORHAM – A co-chairman of the Gorham Marketplace said this week Saturday’s 15th annual event was a big success for businesses.
“It was another huge success this year, creating an electric, spring-like atmosphere at the USM Gorham-campus Costello Sports Complex,” said Jeff Pike, secretary of Gorham Business Exchange, which sponsors the event. “Businesses, restaurants and nonprofit organizations all took advantage of the opportunity to network with each other and build relationships with potential customers they normally don’t see.”
The annual event showcases products and services available in Gorham.
“We had a great day,” Peter Mason of Po-Go Realty said, and “the weather worked in our favor.”
“It went great, as usual,” Trish Moulton, owner of the Dance Studio of Maine, said Tuesday. “We draw a pretty good crowd.”
Pike said the Gorham Marketplace also gave performance groups like the Gorham/Falmouth Robotics Team, My-FIT-24, Dance Studio of Maine, and the Greater Portland School of Jukado the “opportunity to demonstrate their skills in front of audiences that rarely see them.”
“All of those who attended enjoyed the great food and drinks from Sebago Brewery Company, Gorham Grind, Gorham House of Pizza and Amato’s. They also won many great cash prizes, gift certificates and donated gifts in the always popular ‘Price is Right’ game,” Pike said.
This year’s event attracted about 80 vendor booths.
Based on positive feedback from the businesses and the large crowd that attended, organizers plan to host the event again next year, and will consider “new enhancements” to make it an even better experience, Pike said.
“We’ll be there next year – as long as they have it,” Mason said.
