MERRIMACK, NH — Arthur O. Allen, 70, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Wednesday March 14, 2012.
Art, to his friends, was born in Lisbon Falls, ME on August 21, 1941, son of George Eli and Emily Arnold (Ordway) Allen of Pejepscot, ME and later Ocala, Fl. Brother to George Allen Jr. of Rochester, NH, Judith A. Cornish of Brunswick, ME, Burleigh A. Harpswell, ME (deceased).
Survived by his wife Georgina M. ( Limberis) of Merrimack, NH. Children include two sons; Michael A. of North Berwick, ME and Eric B. of Wakefield, NH and daughter; Lisa of Portland, ME. His grandchild is Brittany Nicole Allen. Left in the wake of his passing are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A beloved son of Harpswell, ME, he was involved in Boy Scouts of America Troop 642 with his dad as scout master and his brother George an Eagle Scout, Merricogneag Grange and the civil defense group.
His hobbies included loving life, leading people, camping, boating, fishing, photography, CB radio, cribbage, metal detecting and coin collecting, computer flight simmer pilot with Alaska Winds AW620-Art and scootering NH, MA and ME trails with his wife and family.
SERVICES: Casual attire is recommended to help celebrate Art’s life fully! Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 4 PM at the Harpswell Inn, 108 Lookout Point Rd., Harpswell, ME. Reception for family and friends to follow at cousin Ruth and Bill Allen’s home (next door to the inn) at 7 PM.
