BRUNSWICK — By the time Thursday afternoon’s deadline for filing nomination papers had passed, every legislative seat in the Mid-coast area was slated to see at least two candidates vying to represent their district in the November election.

Some voters, including Republicans in Senate District 20 and Democrats in House Districts 62 and 106, will hold June primaries to determine which candidate will run in the fall.

And voters in part of Brunswick will, for the second consecutive election, choose among three candidates — a Democrat, Republican and Green Independent — to represent District 66.

House

Two-term District 10 Sen. Stan Gerzofsky, D-Brunswick, will run against Republican Ralph Dean of Freeport to represent Brunswick, Freeport, Harpswell and Pownal.

In Senate District 15, including Durham, Auburn, Poland and New Gloucester, incumbent Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello, R-Poland, will face Democrat John Cleveland of Auburn.

Republican Sen. Garrett Paul Mason of Lisbon Falls, who seeks a second term representing District 17 — including Lisbon and nine other communities — faces challenger Colleen Quint, a Democrat from Minot.

Democrat Seth Goodall of Richmond, who has represented Senate District 19 since 2008, is opposed by Republican Jeffrey Pierce of Dresden in his bid for another term.

District 19 includes all of Sagadahoc County and Dresden.

Senate District 20, a seat held by Democrat Christopher Johnson of Somerville since a special election in February, will see a Republican primary pitting current House District 53 Rep. Les Fossel of Alna against Stuart Smith of Edgecomb. The winner will face Johnson in the general election.

District 20 includes Alna, Westport Island, Wiscasset, other communities in Lincoln, Knox and Kennebec counties.

Wiscasset Republican Raymond Soule and Timothy Marks, a Pittston Democrat, will compete for the District 53 seat currently held by Rep. Les Fossel, R-Alna. That seat represents Alna, Dresden, Wiscasset and Pittston.

Topsham Democrat Andrew Mason and Republican Jean Wolkens will run for the District 60 seat being vacated by Rep. Kerri Prescott, who represents part of Topsham.

Three-term District 61 Rep. Bruce MacDonald, D-Boothbay, who represents Arrowsic, Georgetown and several Lincoln County communities, will run again for that seat against Republican Stephanie Hawke of Boothbay Harbor.

With current District 62 Rep. Michael Clarke, D-Bath, set to vacate his seat representing part of Bath, Democrats in that district will vote in a June primary to determine whether Jennifer DeChant or Paul Johnson will oppose Republican Kyle Rogers, a Bath city councilor, in the general election in November.

Rep. Charlie Priest, who has represented District 63 for six terms — the past three of which were consecutive — will run against Republican Matthew Mower of Brunswick for that seat representing part of Brunswick.

Rep. Kimberly Olsen, R-Phippsburg, is challenged by Democrat Jeremy Saxton of Harpswell for the District 64 seat representing those two communities, as well as part of West Bath.

Rep. Peter Kent, D-Woolwich, will run again for the District 65 seat, facing off against Woolwich Republican Jason Warnke. District 65 includes part of Brunswick, part of Bath, part of Topsham, part of West Bath and Woolwich.

Rep. Alex Cornell du Houx, D-Brunswick, who represents District 66 — part of Brunswick — will run again for that seat in a three-way race against Republican John Bouchard and Green Independent David Frans.

Bowdoinham Republican Corey Troup will challenge current District 67 Rep. Seth Berry, D-Bowdoinham, who now represents that town, Bowdoin, Richmond and the unorganized township of Perkins Township.

Former Lisbon School Committee chairwoman Prudence Grant, a Democrat from Lisbon Falls, will challenge Rep. Dale Crafts, R-Lisbon, to represent District 104 seat — part of Lisbon.

Incumbent Rep. Eleanor Espling, R-New Gloucester, who represents District 105 — including part of Lisbon, Durham and New Gloucester — will run again, opposed by Nichole Dawn Stevens, a Democrat from New Gloucester.

In District 106, where current Rep. David Webster, D-Freeport, is prevented by term limits from running again, three Freeport Democrats will face off in a June primary, with the winner slated to run against Freeport Republican Benjamin Martin.

Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry of West Bath will run unopposed to retain that seat for another four- year term.

Primaries will be held June 12, with the general election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6.
