BATH — The third session of the 2012 Downtown Institute Series, presented by the Maine Development Foundation/Downtown Center, is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Bath Savings Institution, 105 Front St.
The session is titled “Green Design, Good Design: Historic Preservation and Smart Energy Solutions.” Presenters include Tim Vrabel, a strategic initiatives specialist for Efficiency Maine; Christopher Closs of Maine Preservation; Nancy Barba of Barba Wheelock Architecture, Preservation Design; Michael Pullen, an architect; Malcolm Collins, an architect; Jan Santerre, Project Canopy coordinator for the Maine Forest Service; and Kim Ballard, office manager for GrowSmart Maine.
The program is open to people involved with downtown revitalization efforts, including all Main Street Maine staff and board members, Downtown Network program leaders, other downtown boards and committee members, volunteers, community planners and elected officials.
The sessions cost $ 25 for Maine Downtown Center communities and Maine Development Foundation members, and $35 for all others.
