Peter was born August 4, 1936 in Boothbay Harbor the son of the late Max and Helene Siarkowski Sprague. Peter grew up in Boothbay Harbor and was a graduate of Boothbay Harbor High school class of 1954. After high school Peter went on to Fryeburg Academy, then to Maine Maritime Academy and eventually graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Marketing from Northeastern University.
Peter served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wasp, active duty for two years and then inactive duty reserve for four years.
Peter married his wife Esther Holloway in February of 1958 in a ceremony in Boston. After college Peter began his career working for Sampson Cordage in Boston and then went on to True Temper in Ohio, and St. Louis. After retiring from True Temper Peter and Esther moved to Brunswick where they lived until Peter moved to the Horizon center formerly Amenity Manor.
Peter enjoyed going to the movies. He enjoyed reading a good book whether it be fiction or non-fiction as long as it kept him interested. He was an avid sports fan especially when it came to hockey and football.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Horizons Living and Rehab center in Brunswick for the tremendous care Peter received there and for all of the people that treated him like a part of their family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Esther Sprague of Brunswick, ME. Son; Stephen Sprague and his companion Aimi Baldwin of Brunswick, ME. Brother; Stephen S. Sprague and his wife Lisa of West Bath, ME. Grandchildren; Hannah and Nathan Sprague both of Brunswick, ME.
