BATH — As part of its film series featuring love stories that won the Academy Award for Best Picture, Patten Free Library will show “From Here to Eternity” at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The film stars Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Burt Lancaster and Frank Sinatra in a 1953 drama set on the eve of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Best Supporting Actor went to Frank Sinatra.
Other films in the series include “An American In Paris,” the 1951 musical set in Paris starring Leslie Caron and Gene Kelly, which will be screened March 21; and “It Happened One Night,” the 1934 screwball comedy starring Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable, which will be screened March 28.
The films start at 2 p.m. in the library’s community room. Attendance and refreshments are free. Call 443-5141 for information.
