WISCASSET — Donna Layton, 69, of Wiscasset passed away on Monday, February 27th with her husband by her side. She was born in Bath, on July 18, 1942, the daughter of Richard and Gladys ( Watson) Morse. She grew up in Bath and graduated from Morse High School, class of 1960.

On June 25, 1960 she married her soul mate John Layton and the couple made their home in Bath to raise their family.

Donna was very family oriented, being a mom was very important to her. However, she kept her self busy when the kids were grown up by working as a cashier for L.L. Bean, retiring in 1999.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She always looked forward to family gatherings with her grandchildren, who were the apple of her eyes. Christmas was her favorite time of year, the whole family would be by her side. She also enjoyed quilting, playing Yahtzee, yard sales and camping. Day trips were another favorite past time of hers, they will not be the same without her. She will be missed by all those that loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, daughters Holly Keith of Gardiner, Kim Hook of Brunswick, Lisa Dobson of Brunswick, and Tammy Baker and her husband Matt of Gardiner; a sister, Sandra Day of Lewiston; 2 brothers, Robert Morse and his wife Donna of Phippsburg and Richard Morse of Arrowsic, 8 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 2nd from 4:00 – 6:00pm at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High Street, Bath.
