KARL SHUMAKER, 10, and Aaron Coffin, both students at Fisher-Mitchell School in Bath, gaze into a touch tank filled with sea creatures Wednesday during a day of special events dedicated to ocean studies.
Students and staff then took part in a number of projects and study units related to ocean themes. Volunteers from the community participated by donating live sea creatures — shrimp, lobsters, fish, etc. — for a touch tank and other items related to the Maine coast.
