Former Cheverus baseball standout signs pro contract
Todd Keneborus, Cheverus’ Spring 2007 Male Athlete of the Year and a recent graduate of St. Joseph’s College, has signed a professional baseball contract with the Frontier League’s London (Ontario) Rippers. Keneborus was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year after the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Cheverus names new softball coach
Cheverus has named Maureen Curran as its new varsity softball coach. Curran, the daughter of longtime Deering softball coach Tige Curran, is a graduate of South Portland High School and Dartmouth College, coached field hockey and created a girls’ lacrosse program at her alma mater and has also served as a softball assistant and is a field hockey official. Curran, who is currently an English teacher and assistant girls’ basketball coach at Cheverus, replaces Amy McMullin.
