THE MAINE CANCER FOUNDATION, an independent statewide nonprofit, recently announced a $50,000 contribution made by Wright Express in support of the Tri for a Cure and Twilight 5K events. The Tri for a Cure event is the premier all-women’s triathlon organized each summer by the Maine Cancer Foundation. The Twilight 5K is a road race offered in June for men and women, run on the same South Portland course as the Tri for a Cure. Both events provide athletes an opportunity to raise funds in support of efforts to fight cancer. “We are tremendously excited to have Wright Express as our presenting sponsor,” said Tara Hill, executive director of Maine Cancer Foundation. “Wright Express has been a sponsor of the Tri for a Cure since its inception. As the race has grown each year, so has Wright Express’ level of commitment. It’s wonderful to see a business that cares so much about our effort to fight cancer here in Maine.” Shown in the photo are, from left, Michael Dubyak, president and CEO of Wright Express; Melissa Smith, president of the Americas, Wright Express; Hill; and Peter King, major gifts coordinator, Maine Cancer Foundation.
