The 24-hour “Freeze Out” events will be taking place in Freeport and Brunswick Saturday to raise awareness, funds and food to fight hunger and meet local heating assistance needs.

Both events run from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Brunswick event, put on by the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, will be held in the Norway Savings Bank parking lot at Cook’s Corner. The Freeport event, put on by

Freeport Community Services for the seventh year, will be held in front of the First Parish UCC Church at 40 Main St.
