SCARBOROUGH — Marietta G. Andrews of Scarborough, until recently of Saco, passed away at Southern Maine Medical Center on February 6, 2012.

She was born in Bangor, Maine on June 16, 1937 the daughter of Hollis W. and Dorothy Mincher Garey.

She was a member of the Morse High School Class of 1955.

Marietta met John Andrews of Kennebec County, while they were at the University of Maine in Orono. They later married on June 9, 1960.

Mrs. Andrews resided in Framingham, MA. for 20 years, before moving to Maine where they lived in Saco for more than 30 years.

Since returning home to Maine over 30 years ago they have summered at the family camp in East Boothbay. She loved the Maine Coast, but after spending nearly every childhood weekend six months a year boating with her father, she grew to love looking at the sea, but never again boating on it.

For 35 years she worked as a tax specialist, and was recognized by the IRS as an Enrolled Agent. She once coowned the Saco- Biddeford H& R Block franchise. Her husband of 51 years never heard her discuss taxes with her clients at her home office because, she spent most hours talking and laughing with clients about their families. She loved finding legal ways within the tax code to save her people money and said to do it she needed to know them.
