BATH — Robert E. Wing Sr., 62, of Walker Street died Friday, February 3, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on July 27, 1949, a son of Rex C. and Evelyn B. (Ames) Wing.

He attended Richmond schools and entered the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was employed at Arbauch Shoe in Brunswick and Worumbo Mill in Lisbon Center. On September 2, 1972 he married Darlene Owen. He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a welder and welding instructor for 31 years, retiring in 2001.

He had many enjoyments; collecting Fantasy swords, anything Lady Death with his brother Bruce, tattooing, gardening and especially spending time with his family and his extended family of children.

He was predeceased by his son, Robert E. Wing Jr. in 1992 and by one sister, Beverly Lebel and parents, Rex and Evelyn Wing.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Wing of Bath, two daughters, Jessica Chambers and her husband Mark of Bath and Sarah-Ann Wing of Bath, two brothers, Bruce Wing and his wife Cathy of Brunswick and Kenneth Wing and his wife Kathy of Wiscasset, one sister, Crystal Rollins and her husband Joel of Brunswick, 3 grandchildren, James Chambers, Matthew Chambers and Jason Bisson Jr., many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Middle Street in Bath. Arrangements are by Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Condolences may be made online at www.DaigleFuneralHome.com.
