TENNIS DIRECTOR REGGIE HODGES revealed that Kelly Gunterman, left in photo, was at Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness in Brunswick in mid-January for special tennis clinics and a book signing. Gunterman has helped more than 20,000 people improve their tennis skills. Gunterman Tennis Schools specialize in creating tailored instruction programs for people of all ages and abilities at Amelia Island Plantation in Florida and Summit Lodge in Vermont. Gunterman is a former collegiate competitor who went on to train and teach with legends like John Newcombe and Peter Burwash. He is also the founder of “Tennis Without Borders,” a nonprofit organization that offers scholarships and assistance with school fees to young tennis students in developing countries. Gunterman lives in Fernandina Beach, Fla. “Having Kelly at Maine Pines was a great opportunity for both our adult and junior players,” said Hodges. “The clinics were an excellent learning experience but also a lot of fun for everyone. Additionally, the participants were each given a copy of ‘Tennis Made Easy,” which Kelly signed with personalized messages.”
