PORTLAND — A man armed with a gun entered the University Credit Union at 391 Forest Ave. late this afternoon and fled with cash.

The robber entered the credit union at 4:10 p.m. There were several customers inside the credit union when he demanded cash from a teller.

Sgt. Dean Goodale of the Portland Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division released a still photograph of the suspect who is described as a white male.

The suspect was wearing a ski mask and a hooded, dark colored South Pole sweat shirt.
Goodale said Portland police are investigating whether this incident may be related to a robbery that occurred Wednesday night at the Cumberland Farms store on Pine Street.

Two people attempted to rob University Credit Union on Dec. 21. Two teenagers, 14 and 15, were caught by police two days later.

Anyone with information regarding the recent robberies is asked to contact the Portland Police Department at 874-8575.
