BATH — Studio Theatre of Bath announces auditions for its spring fundraiser, which will follow the first 25 years of Billboard rock ’ n’ roll hits from 1955 to 1979.

A seven-piece house band will provide the music, while performers who successfully win roles via auditions will strut their stuff “out front” and belt — or croon — their favorite songs from the period.

Audition sessions will take place at the Winter Street Center annex from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 20 and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 21.

Those wishing to audition are asked to email their choice of audition song, plus two additional songs they would like to perform, to markmcneil@comcast.net well in advance of the audition dates.

“Please choose songs from different years and different artists, and please include the artist name and the year in your email,” a Studio Theatre release states. “This will help us to properly prepare for the audition sessions. The number of songs each performer will be able to do will be determined by how many participants there are.

Some “group” numbers will be assembled as well.

The concert will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 21 at The Hall (formerly Harmony Hall) in North Yarmouth. It will be a “cabaret style” event.

Studio Theatre also seeks an “energetic emcee for the show, who will announce the songs, original artists, trivia, etc. … in between numbers.” This person should plan on “ costume” changes as the concert moves from era to era.
