A 27- year- old Bowdoin woman was treated and released from Mid Coast Hospital on Tuesday after her car struck a large deer while headed north on Route 1 near Cook’s Corner.
Maegan Kaye, 27, of 626 West Road, Bowdoin, was transported to the hospital for precautions following the crash, Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department said today.
Kaye’s 1997 Ford passenger car apparently struck the deer as the animal attempted to cross the highway, he said.
“The animal made poor spatial time-distance decisions and failed to avoid collision with the vehicle,” Brunswick Patrol Officer Ed Yurek wrote in a crash report.
Kaye’s passenger, 20-yearold Jayson Minnihan, was not injured.
