BRUNSWICK — Veteran liquor enforcement officer Frank Lyons will lead a stateapproved Responsible Alcohol Seller Training program from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brunswick Landing.

Communities Against Substance Abuse (CASA), a coalition coordinated by Mid Coast Hospital, offers the training to store clerks, managers and storeowners.

Space is limited and registration is required. To sign up, call CASA at 373-6957. A $10 registration can be paid at the door.

Lyons spent 23 years as a liquor enforcement officer and is a certified instructor with the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. The training covers liquor liability laws, fraudulent identification, how to effectively handle very intoxicated persons, and strategies stores can adopt to protect their businesses and patrons.

CASA’s mission is to reduce underage drinking, high risk drinking and other substance abuse. The training is being cosponsored by the police departments of Topsham, Bath, Richmond and Brunswick; and by the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department.
