BRUNSWICK — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 27 Pleasant St., has welcomed the Rev. Ann Johnson Broomell, as its Transition Priest-in-Charge. She follows the Rev. Daniel Warren who served St. Paul’s for 12 years and retired earlier this year.

Rev. Broomell comes to this area from Connecticut where she served as interim rector at Episcopal churches in Greenwich and Fairfield. She has also served parishes on the East Coast as priest-incharge rector, and cathedral dean.

In 2010 she completed a year-long chaplain residency at Yale New Haven Hospital serving in the oncology, neonatal care and intensive care units, and in the emergency room.

Her early experience includes work in the West Wing of the White House in Washington, D.C., and as litigation legal assistant in law firms in San Francisco and Boston.

Broomell brings a particular interest in contemplative prayer and spirituality, local and oversears mission, youth and children’s ministries, worship and teaching, especially adult formation. She has served as a deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church and on boards and commissions in the areas of stewardship, mission/ outreach, finance and budget, and ministry.

In addition to undergraduate study at Bucknell University and Cedar Crest College, she has a master of divinity degree from Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Mass., and a doctor of ministry degree from Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston,Ill. Her adult children live in London, England, and Boston. A native of Connecticut, she enjoys kayaking and sailing, travel and singing in choral groups.

“ I am delighted to be in Brunswick and at St. Paul’s and I look forward to my time here,” she said.
