BATH — The Jeannette G. Morin Chapter of Credit Unions and Maine Credit Union League will host the Financial Fitness Money Management Experience, a special event for high school students, from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Donald Small School building, 4 Sheridan Road.
More than 200 students from Boothbay Region High School, Lincoln Academy, Morse High School, and Wiscasset High School are scheduled to attend.
“The day, which can be compared to an interactive ‘game of Life,’ builds awareness for youth education and for credit unions’ dedication to financial literacy in their communities,” a release from the league states.
During the program, students receive a “scenario packet of their life at age 22, which includes their occupations, income and credit history,” the release states. “From there, students will have to map out their financial future from financing their housing to purchasing food and clothing.”
Representatives from Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union, Five County Credit Union, Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union, Midcoast Federal Credit Union and the Maine Credit Union League helped to organize the event.
