PORTLAND — Drivers should avoid Allen Avenue today as the Amtrak Downeaster expansion continues in Portland.

Crews are working on the railroad grade crossing reconstruction. Allen Avenue, near the intersection of Forest Avenue, is expected to be closed until about 7 p.m.
