The rosters are finally set for the 22nd Annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic, and nine area representatives, eight players and one coach, will participate in the game as members of the West team.

Among the players participating in the yearly high school football All-Star game is Nick Gagne of Biddeford, Dimitri Skinsacos of Thornton Academy, Ethan Drigotas of Kennebunk, Jason Dutton of Old Orchard Beach, Andrew Hammond of Massabesic, Shawn Goodrich of Sanford and Alex Robinson and Chad Whitten of Wells.

Wells head coach Tim Roche will serve as an assistant coach for the West squad.

Gagne was the top fullback in York County last fall, racking up 1,074 total yards (973 yards rushing, 101 yards receiving) and totaled 40 tackles and 13 sacks on defense. Gagne was a major factor in the Tigers going 7-2 during the 2010 season, and was a Fitzpatrick Trophy semifinalist during the offseason.

A tight end during the 2009 season, Skinsacos was used mostly in a running back role in 2010. He was a factor both on the ground and through the air, scoring nine total touchdowns and 450 total yards. Skinsacos did his most damage in the passing game, hauling in 17 catches for 261 yards, averaging 15.4 yards per reception.

Goodrich, a 5-7 sparkplug of a running back during his career at Sanford, had 1,125 all-purpose yards in 2010, rushing for 683 yards and averaging 6.2 yards per carry, scoring 13 touchdowns. If that wasn’t enough, Goodrich showed off his arm in the passing game, going 5 of 7 passing with four touchdown passes on trick plays for the Redskins last year.

Drigotas was part of a strong 1-2 combination at receiver for Kennebunk. Both he and Van Brazz combined for 14 touchdown receptions for quarterback Matt Dube last fall. Drigotas came down with 36 receptions for 659 yards, with seven touchdowns.

One of the top offensive lineman for Massabesic in 2009, Hammond suffered torn knee ligaments before training camp, missing the entire 2010 season.

Dutton was a lone bright spot for Old Orchard during a tough 2-6 season. Dutton played multiple positions for the Seagulls, including quarterback.

Whitten, Robinson and Roche were all integral cogs in the success of the best team to play in York County last season. The Warriors enjoyed an 8-2 season, making it to Western Class B final before losing 18-0 to Mountain Valley.

The game will be hosted for the 19th consecutive year at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford. The West enjoys a 15-6 lead in the series, however, the East has won four Lobster Bowls in the past five years and have won the past two contests in a row. The East downed the West 40-35 last season.

The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, July 23.
