PORTLAND — The third annual Lobsterfest begins at 11 a.m. today at the Maine State Pier.
Presented by the Rotary Club of Falmouth, the event will include music, a Gourmet Lobster Tasting Bar and the Great Maine Lobster Eating Contest.
Judges for the contest, which starts at 1 p.m., are Gov. Paul LePage, Bob Crowley, winner of the CBS show “Survivor” and Miss Maine USA Ashley Marble.
There will be live music all day long. Stream Reggae band will play from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Typhoon Ferri will play from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the David Good Trio will be on stage from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Attendees can buy a lobster meal for $12.50. Proceeds from the event benefit the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
