Church merger service, 10:30 a.m., to celebrate the formation of Williston-Immanuel United Church, created from the combined congregations of Immanuel Baptist Church (American Baptist) and Williston West Church, United Church of Christ. Members from each church will meet outside in separate groups prior to the service and form a single group at the main door at 156 High St., Portland. Coupons for parking at Gateway Garage will be available after the service. Child care will also be available.

Briefly
The First Universalist Church of Auburn has recently awarded its Rose Window honor to Mary Kay Weisenberger. The annual award recognizes a member for exceptional contributions to the faith community and who has been a model of Unitarian Universalist principles.
Weisenberger served for two years as vice president of the board and for two more years as president. She has also served on the Committee on Ministry for more than three years and is a Lay Pastoral Care provider.
Sr. Joanne Roy and Sr. Elaine Lachance recently celebrated their Golden Jubilee as Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec). Bishop Joseph Gerry, former bishop of Portland, was the officiant at the Jubilee Mass Celebration.
Sr. Roy is a resident of Saco and works at the Good Shepherd Ministry, which helps women in need of transitional housing. Sr. Lachance works with women interested in religious life. She lives in South Portland.
