For the second time in a matter of months, Bonny Eagle High School received a bomb threat Monday, leading to school officials to cancel school Tuesday.

On Monday morning at about 11 a.m., School Resource Deputy Kim Emery was advised of a written bomb threat that was found inside the school. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing specifics of the threat or where in the school the threat was located, pending further investigation. Capt. Jeff Davis said the “threat did indicate in substance that a bomb would go off today.”

On Monday afternoon a Maine State Police bomb detection K-9 searched the school but found nothing. School officials chose to close the school as a precautionary measure.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the threat and further details will be released as they are received.
