Thornton Academy junior C.J. Maksut was a member of the Northern New England Gold entry in the PIHL America’s Showcase, held last week in Pittsburgh. Maksut helped NNE Gold win the over all championship, in a tournament designed to give college hopeful hockey players exposure to scouts and recruiters. Maksut’s Thornton teammate, Jon Pate, was also a member of NNE Gold, while Thornton goalie Jay Finch and Biddeford defenseman Eric Grover played for another team, NNE Black.
