BEARS NOTES: Hershey, the two-time defending Calder Cup champion, is starting a six-day, four-game swing on the East Coast. Keith Aucoin is second in the AHL with 48 assists, including seven in the last three games, though the Bears went 1-2 in those games. Brian Willsie, who leads Hershey with 25 goals, has two goals and two assists in his last three games. Nolan Schaefer, acquired last week on loan from the Boston Bruins, is 1-1 with a 2.52 goals-against average in two starts for Hershey.

PIRATES NOTES: The Pirates are riding a three-game winning streak and have earned points in 23 of 30 games since Christmas. In the last three games, veteran forward Mark Parrish has two goals and seven assists, and Marc-Andre Gragnani, who leads AHL defensemen in scoring, has seven assists. David Leggio has stopped 69 of 73 shots in his last two starts. Rookie Luke Adam has four goals and three assists in his last four games.
