AUGUSTA — It’s Ronald Reagan Day in Maine.
Today marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan, who served as U.S. president from 1981 to 1989.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage last week proclaimed today as Ronald Reagan Day in Maine.
In his proclamation, LePage said the nation was disillusioned and suffering high inflation and employment when Reagan took office. The proclamation said that during his presidency, Reagan restored accountability and common sense to government, which led to economic expansion and opportunity.
