LEBANON — Upper Guinea Road in Lebanon had to be shut down for about 20 minutes this morning after an excavator slid off a trailer and tipped over, landing in the road.
Lebanon’s Assistant Rescue Chief Jason Cole said a 2003 Komatsu excavator was being unloaded when it tipped over. The operator was not injured, but the machine came to rest in the road.
The road was closed to one lane of traffic for about 30 minutes, and was completely closed for 20 minutes while a large loader lifted the excavator off the road.
Central Maine Power responded because the excavator came to rest under power lines.
The accident is under investigation by Sgt. Roger Hicks of the York County Sheriff’s Department.
