WASHINGTON — There is no word on when Amtrak will resume full train service across New England, but it is making some progress.
Amtrak had to cancel service between Boston and New York City, and from Boston to Portland, Me., because of the major snowstorm socking in the region.
Crews worked through the night to clear tracks with spokesman Cliff Cole saying limited service from Boston to New York’s Penn Station resumed Tuesday morning – but with some delays. Amtrak’s Downeaster service between Boston and Maine also has resumed. Cole is asking that passengers have patience as trains begin moving.
Service between New York and Washington was not affected by the storm.
